Actor Rajinikanth’s 2.0, which is already being labelled as the costliest Asian film till date, just got costlier by Rs. 50 crore. The film’s budget is more than Rs.400 crore. “Considering that the film has received a tremendous buzz, we have decided to make sure that the film really measures up to Hollywood standards.
We are spending more money to enhance the visual effects of the film,” said Raju Mahalingam, Creative Head, Lyca Productions. The film, which is directed by Shankar and also stars Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, is also likely to release in 6 different languages. Read here..

Robot 2.0 is an upcoming 2017 Indian science fiction film starring Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in lead roles while Sudhanshu Pandey, Adil Hussain, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Riyaz Khan, Kaizaad Kotwal and Maya Krishnan in supporting roles.
2.0 is a spiritual successor to the Tamil film Enthiran (2010), the film is featuring Rajinikanth in reprising roles of Dr. Vaseegaran and Chitti, alongwith Akshay Kumar in villian and Amy Jackson in lead role.
The 2.0 film is directed by S. Shankar and produced by Subaskaran Allirajah, founder of London-based Lyca Productions. The film is written by S. Shankar and B. Jeyamohan.
A. R. Rahman is to compose the soundtracks and music, while cinematography, editing, design, and visual effects is to be handled by Nirav Shah, Anthony, T. Muthuraj, and V. Srinivas Mohan respectively.
The Lyca Productions company is to release 2.0 film in in 6 languages — Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, English, Japanese and Chinese. on the scheduled date in October 2017.
